Faith Temple National Fellowship Churches of God, Inc

Our History

God had a work that had to be accomplished in the Northern Neck Region of Virginia, so He called two men Bishop Forrest Nance, Jr. and Emeritus Paul Smith to form a church in Warsaw, Virginia. They sought direction from Apostle Ivan Grant, Sr. and  Faith Temple National Fellowship Churches of God was established on October 1, 2013. Since the first service until now the Spirit of God has moved and added souls to this part of the vineyard. Faith Temple has governed themselves by the scripture, Zechariah 4:6; “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”

With the help of Deaconess Carolyn Churchill (Sister at the time), Mother Wilma Nance, Mother Edith Smith, Deaconess Tracy McClain and Mother Victoria Nance, they prayed and fasted to get direction from God as to the location for the church. God moved on their petition and the building was revealed through Mother Wilma Nance. God blessed Faith Temple with new pews for the renovation of the sanctuary, a dining area, classrooms, a complete kitchen and plenty room for growth. Since the opening of the doors Faith Temple has prospered spiritually and physically. Knowing that it takes the Word of God to establish Disciples of Christ; Prayer and Bible Study was established immediately on Tuesday nights. They had their first outreach ministry led by Deaconess Carolyn Churchill  and Mother Wilma Nance to provide coffee and donuts at the church as an introduction to the community.

Faith Temple hosted the Day of Assembly for the National Fellowship Churches of God, Inc. (The NATION of NFCOG), in Mar 2014. God instructed the leadership to have a revival for the entire month of April 2014, with Apostle Ivan Grant, Sr., Bishop Scottie Jackson, Elder James Proctor, Elder Cheryl Miller, and Overseer Elder Elvin Witherspoon. Souls were added to the kingdom with signs, wonders, and miracles being performed by God. The church enjoyed their first picnic in July 2014 with games, plenty of good food, and refreshments. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the bond of fellowship and unity was displayed throughout the day. Because of the dedication and the desire of the people to be at the 18th National Fellowship Churches of God, Inc. “Holy Convocation” God allowed all the members to be in attendance and experience the move of God.

The spiritual growth of God’s people has been enhanced as they follow the vision that God has given for Faith Temple. It is with Love, Faith, Grace, Mercy, Faithfulness, Endurance, and Willingness to Work, Joy, Peace, Long-suffering, Gentleness, and Goodness that we have continued to this day.
